Roof Coating Recommendation?

Good Day All,

I wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a reliable company that does roof coating on STX. I have a metal roof and want to seal it with an elastomeric, fluid applied, application on top of the metal. Also, has anyone had any experience (negative or positive) with fluid applied over top of metal?

Thank you
Dante 🙂

You might stop in at the Martin Senor paint store on 75. I think it's "Lisa's Paints". Her husband Tim does roofing and they have a coating that they put over metal roofs.

Dante,
Do you fill your cistern with roof rain water? If so what effect would that coating have on the water?

Most/all wood roofs here have an elastomeric coating and the coating does not adversely affect the cistern water.

I don't know, not sure! would like more information on the elastomeric coating on a Metal Roof, dntw8up maybe you can reference some sites with test results. My limited experience is high school chemistry, different compounds change their properties, such as the reaction to wood vs metal with this product.

I just coated my roof. Lisa's paint in Princess sells the insul coat which keeps roof cooler. Her husband Tim does a good job and you can get a guarantee.

Jane, Terry, Bombi..Thank you for the recommendations, I will check them out.

Lizard, Yes, I do use the roof / cistern system, so your point is well taken I will definitely check into any product I choose to make sure it is safe.

Does anyone know if the application can be sprayed on, or is it just rolled on? My roof is very visible, and I wanted it to look professional, and not “painted on”. I was also hoping to add a color to the coating, which I assume could be mixed in like paint?

Thanks again for all of the responses, and great advice.
Regards,
Dante

I doubt that anyone could tell the difference between sprayed on and brushed on from a few feet away.
