my name is manda, i am moving to st thomas mid july. my boyfriend and one of our friends will also be moving. rent is so expensive there and seems to get cheaper per room the more rooms you get. we were thinking that maybe getting a roommate might help things out. what are your plans? does any of this fit with what you were thinking about?

Thanks for the response.. I did e-mail both of you individually.. It is such an amazing place.. Summer time is much slower than say after October but there is still alot going on.. I know the Island pretty well..I spent many summers there and lived there for 2 years after college.. That has been a few years and I am sure things have changed but I know the areas not to live.. Hope to hear back from you..

Vanessa,

Have you already found an apartment/roommate? If you have found an apartment but not a roommate I would be interested.

Kristy,

No not really some of us are just to arrange a meeting place. In my case, if I don't end up sharing a place with someone, I'll probably end up renting a room on my day of arrival in Frenchtown. I want to be on the Safari taxi route. ($1.00 cab fairs are dirt cheap, especially useful going to the University.

I would be interested in a sharing a house as well as other people would . I would prefer near the University (Fenchtown) or in Charlotte Amilee.

Have you found a house for rent?

Dave

Dave,
No but i have finally decided on a for sure date to move. I will be moving the first week of August. So, I am serious about getting everything together, since that isn't to far away.
So to anyone who is serious about getting a place with few people let me know, that way i can get a feel for what to look for/what everyone wants. Here is a few questions I have to all that are interested. If you could email me at sunkissed7835@hotmail.com with the answers it would help.

1. Which area you would like to live in. I've heard that the northside is the best/safe area, please correct me if I am wrong.

2. Which amenties are a priority? Furnished or unfurnished? Pool? Etc.

3. Home for rent or condo?

4. Pets?

5. The maximum amount you will pay for rent per person?

6. How max. amt. of people that you want to live with? Does it matter if you live w/ guys and girls?

7. Any other input that you guys have in mind?

Kristi,

I am going to be on island June 25. I am looking for roommates as well and am very flexible. I do not really care where on the island, how many people I live with (the more the less expensive), girls and boys. I think a house is going to be the best bet. There will be more room to fit whoever in.

I am staying in one of these short term rental places so I can live there until people get down and we can all move in together. I am deffinitly in with whatever happens. Just let me know what you think.

I am a 24/m and am ready to have some fun in the sun.

Kristy,

That sounds good. Please email me with more details or post on the site. I anticipate moving there in mid-July.

Also, are you on the island? If so, would you be able to look at the house yourself and give an assessment - what's good, bad, etc. Photos? (if you have a digital)

I would be willing to do either the 3 or 6 bedroom (hopefully we can get a solid group on this). Please keep us posted.

Cheers,
Ryan S.

Kristi,

That sounds like it could be good. I would like to get the info about the houses.

The 6 bed would be great if we can get enough people in on it. It would probably make things less expensive.

If there is anyone here now who is looking for a roommate let me know. I'v found out that sharing a place is alot better because you have more options. I just got here a couple of days ago and am still looking for a place.
thanks

I'll be coming down the 1st of June. Have a job and everything lined up but don't have a place to stay. I am used to having a place to myself but if there is a really good place that could be gotten I wouldn't mind it. I'm 36 financially stable (not rich-not poor), type-A personality at work, laziest beach bum out of work, love to travel, pretty laid back when it comes to life. Give me an e-mail if interested. snw2srf2sun@aol.com
