I will be working at Branch office of our chicago firm. It's an investment firm, ive been working there for a quite a while. As for where to start looking for a job, you really have to be in the islands the find a job, the island trader is a great source for everything including appartmetns and such, jobs, appliences, everything. I was lucky, and i will be going down for a job. 341 is very reasonable round trip. Kristy where do you live? I already had my pre-move in october, it was great! check out Farfield Villas, i think Ronnie on the board runs them or something, and no i don't have a roomate yet

Here is an idea...there are some older small units(about 8-10) for sale at a very reasonable price. Buy the units, all move in, fix them up in your spare time, then sell the thing when you are finished, or keep it as an investment and a place to go for vacation. Might as well make it a financial gain as well as your other reasons...Just an old fart following peoplesl threads, and retired RE Broker...

Hey folks,

TO: Jenna, yeah maybe all of us can hook up down there.

Guys as soon as I know something from UVI I'll let you know.

Jenna, I'm trying to get into graduate school there. I'm 25 and on my days off I love to be the life of the party. I'm graduating from college this May 2004 and I'm from Massachusetts.

What are you majoring in at UVI?

Hi All!

Kristy, basically I'm pretty flexible. If I can find a decent job, I'm there as soon as I can myself together> I just started a maters program but I'm willing to make some changes to be there. I loved the VI and cant wait to be there perm - or at least try it.

Jenna, my degree is in Computers and Education. (No I am not a 4 eyed geek).

Melissa and Jenna,

Trust me, my liver has seen hell and back with me. Don't compete with me.. My nickname in college is "The Czar". I wish I could party every night. I have this funny thing called rent to pay for so I can't do it as often as I would like too.

If you guys are coming down in August? Why don"t you do July?

See ya

Dave

This is ridiculously funny!! I came across this message board in my search for housing in STT and was excited about what's going on. Damn it!! I want in....(please). 🙂

Ok here's my deal: I'm 25 yrs. old and am from the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago). I left Trinidad about six years ago to live in the US. I did my undergraduate studies in Political Science and History at Drexel Univ. in Philadelphia, then moved to Washington DC where I did my MA in National Security Studies. In September 2003 I left DC to start a PhD program in the Department of War Studies at King's College London. My program is three years long but I only have to be in London until the end of May. So, I've been wanting to find some place different to relax, enjoy the sun, have some fun and get work done on my dissertation.

I've been thinking about finding some place on the beach in Tobago but I've been there quite a bit and would like to try some place else in the Caribbean. STT seems as good a place as any of the other islands.

I've no problems living with a bunch of people. At Drexel I was a brother in SigEp and lived with a group of other brothers.

Basically, I miss the islands, the sun, beaches, food, music, and beautiful island ladies...ah...and the rum. I'd like to live there for a while before I finish my studies and head back to DC for work.

If there any too many people for one group house then maybe we can find two houses!?! Just a thought. Also, I can move to STT anytime from June - September. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Ryan

Gday all,

I'm a buddy of Kyle's and am kinda the reason hes got this crazy idea in his head. I too am from south jersey and will be graduating in May. I was going to try and make a move down to the VI, but then drifted away from the idea, until Kyle has got me hooked on it again. I'm thinking about going on the trip with him on the 2nd of June, but am undecided. I've made frequent trips to the VI but have never spent much time on STT. I don't have any work/living plans but from the looks of it we've got enough people to rent out the wyndham. So, add one more to the list...non smoker, avid sailor/scuba diver/drinker of rum. Hope to talk to you all soon.

Cheers,
Adam

Kyle and Adam,

I'm in London right now and am interested in going down at the same time as you guys are planning to go. I'll look around and see what the ticket prices are like.

Where will you guys be staying? And, when are you all planning to move to STT? I'm basically ready to move but would like to be in a group house with some chill people.

Leh meh know!

Everybody!

Ok, it's on now.
First night we are all there, Jenna, Melissa, and myself, will show all of you guys up. I don't think you guys will be able to handle/keep up with us.
Seriously, we all need to see about finding a large place(probably two) for us all to stay. We are all young and ready to have fun so let's make sure St. THomas remembers us. I can't wait to meet everyone. My email address is sunkissed7835@hotmail.com so everybody email me so i can get to know you. I know all of us girls are hot, what about you guys? Hey Islander you might have to show the group around at first, if you can put up with us all.

Jim,

That is an excellent idea. Were there any units in particular you had in mind, or were you just talking in general. I just got my RE license (my father is a broker) and I'm very interested in this sort of deal.

This is getting a bit confusing, and im pretty sure this is one of the longest threads on this site.

I myself will be down from june 2nd - 10th. I'd love to meet any of you and get things rolling, the fall will be here before we know it.

If any of you that are seriously interested in moving want to email me ( Kylep@udel.edu) and give me your details, name, contact info, when you will be down, personality traits, etc... i'll try to compile something organized and easy to look at to make things easier.

Kyle

Kristy,

I'm not so sure of your challenge.....the last group of girls I know that made such a challenge were beaten solidly in no more than an hour. I'm not sure what the STT rum is like but sure hope you all have the liver to handle some wicked West Indian rum (and a couple shots of babash).

Rest of the gang,

I'm up for moving anytime after May. Is there any particular part of the island you all were interested in?

Gang,

I was also curious as to how much your budgets are for rent. What's the max you will pay per month for a group house?

Hey everyone,

This is just getting bigger and bigger. The more it goes on the more fun it sounds. I can not wait for us all to get down there and start parting like its 1999. I am in the process of getting plans gooing to make the move the last week of June. Probably the 22-23 of June. If anyone is interested in coming down then with me lets do it. Find a house and get things going right.

Kyle P,

I can do the last week of June or early July.

Also I'm curious as to how many people are thinking of shipping their cars.

I am going to ship a car down.

This is going to be a lot of fun. I will be moving down sometime between june-august, as soon as my company closes on our office space. I am 22 and it looks like me and Jenna are going to be the young ones. Seems like we got a good mix pf people and a good little support network. From what i gather we will all be down sometime during the summer. Add me to your mailing lists, and Jenna I tried emailing you and it got rejected.?? whats your email.

My email is ndrew00@hotmail.com so everybody has it. Maybe we should start a new thread where everybody posts when they are coming down and a little about themselves, and how much they can spend on rent.
