I have been on island for a week. and I am looking for ways to fill my days while my wife is at work at the hospital. I am willing to trade labor for sail time. and i am looking for a sailing school as well. My wife, and I . came down here to get a feel for island life. It is are intent to sale are home in Alaska and buy a sailboat. I want to gain as much experience as possible in the time that we are here. we are staying at Sapphire village, and will be on St Thomas untill the end of October. Any suggestions or recommendations would greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.

You can find some info on sailing schools at http://www.vinow.com/stthomas/SandL/sailing.php. Also you might try emailing Pam at pamela@vicl.org of the VI Charteryacht League, perhaps she could help with getting you in contact with some boats concerning your trade labor for sail time offer.

Chad: You might want to come out to the voter registration event at the STYC Friday. They do club racing on Friday evenings and are always eager for new sailors.
