What is the sales tax percentage on purchases in STX?

Wow! Deja vu all over again:
"There is no sales tax. However, there is a gross receipts tax that is paid by the seller at each level (wholesale,middle man,retailer) that tends to be cumulative and is a hidden tax on goods and services."

East Ender is correct, we have a mutli layer hidden sales tax that equates to about 15%. Not to mention the import duty that is paid twice in the VI...once when the goods were imported into the US mainland and again when they arrive here. Even worse, if the goods entered the US duty free, they still attract duty when they arrive in the VI since the VI is not part of NAFTA. Barter among businesses is very common here. Fellow bloggers, correct me if I am wrong.
