anybody know if sandy point will be open Christmas Day? Cruise ship is scheduled in.

Probably not given that it’s Federally owned/run and they’re all furloughed right now.

You are not allowed on Sandy Point during Leatherback nesting season EXCEPT, at night by reservation under the guidance of National Park ranger. I think Sandy Point is closed to the public during the day from 11/1 to 4/1 or 5/1.

Sorry I was wrong on nesting season. It is 4/1 to 9/1. So I have no idea if Sandy Point is open or not given the U.S. Gov't shutdown. It's a public beach in non-nesting season.
