Hi all! I was just wondering what the tuition is for Private Schools in STX? As we will be moving with two children and I haven't heard anything to positive about the public school system (but if I'm wrong, please let me know)
Thanks, Imij 🙂

Check out Good Hope School also. I think they have a discount for more than one child in school. They both are considered the best schools on the island.

Country Day's tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is:
Half-day Nursery/Pre-K $9,200
Full-day Nursery/Pre-K $9,900
Grades 1-2 $11,500
Grades 3-4 $12,000
Grades 5-6 $12,200
Grades 7-12 $13,300

Those are the "Full Tuition" (pay it all at once) rates. It's more expensive if you pay in installments. The school is outstanding, though!

I lived on st croix for two years and my two children went to Juanita Gardene and absolutely loved it. I wouldnt change that cultural experience for anything and thats all the kids talk about is moving back and going back to their old school P.S. I dont care what anyone says they are not behind academically on the island both kids still straight a's in the us maybe older kids bigger problem but for my kids no culture shock or anything like people talk about they adjusted and fit in fine parental participation in the school was huge and my wife went on a lot of the field trips and awareness walks that were coordinated

Juanita Gardene is an elementary school.
In the USVI there is a large difference between the experience of being in the elementary schools and being in the Jr and Sr High Schools.

That said, there are SOME positive things to say about the public schools. There are some good teachers and programs.
