Good day to all!

I will be moving to St. Thomas in March in search of a teaching job. I just graduated with an Elementary Education degree with a concentration in English and Communications. I have applied to the public as well as private (Antilles) school systems. I just wanted to get some opinions on the school systems in St. Thomas. If anybody has children I would like to know some positive as well as negative (if there are any) aspects to the school systems there. What are some of the schools located on the North or East of of St. Thomas because that is where I will probably be living.

If there are no teaching positions available I would like to become a Teachers Assistant , Substitute Teacher, or work in the school system somehow. I am just wanted to gather as much information as I can before arriving on the island.

Thanks for all your help!

Desire'

VI Montessori School is on the east end. They have a middle and high school and may be looking for teachers. Donna

All Saints (Anglican) is easy to get to from the North Side and not too bad from the East End. (340)774-0231.

You have probably already found this web site. If you are a fully credentialed teacher, I'm sure you will be offered a job.

The public schools are working hard to improve conditions. It is still a tough job.
