Hi Everyone -

Can anyone tell me the history of the seaplane in the Virgin Islands? Online I seem to only find info on Seaborne Airlines.

Tom

Seaborne is the only seaplane flying in the Virgin Islands at this time. They fly DeHavilland Twin Otters.

Previously Antilles Air Boats flew the STT/STX route but they went out of business years ago. Antilles was started by Maureen O'Hara's husband Charles Blair who died in a crash of one of their Grumman Goose seaplanes in 1978.

Seaflight VI is trying to start a seaplane service using Cessna Caravans on floats but so far they are only flying airport to airport.

Do a Google search for Charles Blair or Antilles Airboats. There is a lot there.
