Was I the only one confused by the article in the Source covering the recent scripture based parenting meeting sponsored by Addelita Cancryn Public School on STT. The principal also espoused corporal punishment as biblical based. One woman was complaining that a passer by had commented on her hitting her child in public. I guess the meeting also said that it was ok to use a belt to discipline a naughty child.

wow! The only good point that I can see is that only a handful of parents turned up to hear this garbage. If I had a child in that school, I would be sorely afraid.

This just underlines the warnings that many of us who have raised kids on the islands have given to Newbies regarding the Public School system.

Hi Jane!

I don't think you meant to say "confused" because you know this appalling behavior is standard operating procedure here.

I was only confused in that the Source was reporting it as straight coverage of an event - not a word of editorial comment re. the "belt" etc.
