For several years now Shipwreck Tavern on STT has been running specials on each day. One was the their hamburger special that started out at half price about a year ago, then went to 7$ and now has gone up to 10. They had a strip steak for
half price. Then it went to 14 and now is 18. And they added the tip on automatically. Another no no. But I overlooked the added tip and added a small additional tip at the raised prices a month ago.

They have all the right to raise prices. And I, as a paying person, have all the right to do things also. So as I used to go every friday for the hamburger I will now go about once a month, or they loose 30! So Shipwreck you loose more than the new price of 10 for a burger. I used to recommend Shipwreck to everyone. No I tell them about the new prices and let them make a decision.

And I will probably never go for the strip steak as I feel that it is simply not worth the new price.

So when I went this Friday for the hamburger the place seemed very empty. The new prices may have something to do with that!

So up yours SHIPWRECK! You will not see me much anymore.

I agree, the Shipwreck was my Friday night meal almost every week but not anymore. I wonder if a post on Trip Adviser would help them come to their senses? I sure the sales of alcohol with a crowd made up for the cheaper burgers.

So, is it 1/2 of $10 for the burger, or is it $20 & $10 is 1/2?
I don't go there much, & when i do, it seems someone is treating me.

the burgers are 10 each on FRIDAY ONLY. Remember that you have a choice, just as Shipwreck did, when they almost DOUBLED then price in 8 months. The price of hamburger for me has not DOUBLED in six months.

And it was a place that many people came on Friday to enjoy a burger and a drink or two.

Let's see if Shipwreck reads this and then comes back to a better plan.

Billd,

You are right on about the prices..When my guest would come to the Iland. I would bring them there for there burgers and steak..Not only is the price out of line but the food stinks. Rotten tomatos with the burger I told the waitress so she came back with more rotten tomatos I told her they were bad..she says that's all we got.. I will never go back there again plus they took out for the tip...the whole thing is BS...
