Had dinner last night at the South Shore Cafe. Awesome as usual. I forget about it since it is out a bit. Just wanted to remind everyone that it is out there and still as great as ever.

Very good food, steaks, chicken, seafood, handmade pastas, etc... The owner is a doll.

Edited to add...make reservations before you go. Only open for dinner and its a very small restaurant so they do need to know how many are coming.

Her key lime tarts are fantastic. Best Key Lime I have found on the island. Just be sure to request it when you make your reservation as she doesn't fix them everyday.

Black pepper ice cream? Can you elaborate on that.

Thanks.

If you're shocked by that flavor you should try some of the homemade flavors at Dashi like mint basil, or wasabi, etc... Always severed with some fried bananas. Really good.

It is a homemade vanilla ice cream with black pepper in it. Was very leary about it till we got a order to share at the table one visit. Now I am hooked.
