Sprint Vs. AT&T on STT?

Hey! We will move to STT in August but want to switch our cell providers now (we are currently with Verizon). It looks like AT & T and Sprint are the best (only?) options.

Opinions on AT &T vs. Sprint? Which has the best coverage on the East end of STT?

Also - any opinions on which wireless internet provider is the best?

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks! Do you have an opinion on good neighborhoods in the East end?

On all of St Thomas, you need to do personal surveillance. Very nice neighborhoods can have unfinished houses, feral chickens and sketchy neighbors. Drive around, walk around and talk to the neighbors.

First you want to dump Horizon as they only provide roaming.

I have Sprint and am on Sapphire beach. The service is very good here. My bars are maxed out in that I can see the tower and there is no roaming back to the main land. . I think that ATT is also good and offers no roaming back to the main land. I have not tried out their internet service as I have wonderful Innovative.

3 to 4 years ago on the north shore of STT, ATT service would connect to the BVI towers and I'd incur roaming charges. I had to call ATT monthly to have the charges credited. Perhaps they've addressed that issue.

I agree with East Ender re the neighborhoods---even "very nice" areas have sketchy characters. Due diligence is key, and, never make assumptions.

Re the phone, I have had both Sprint and ATT and I pick ATT hands down for overall coverage, both here and stateside. There are still some areas on the Northside of STT where it is possible to roam into the BVI, but heck, at least I almost always *get* a signal, and ATT is very gracious about removing the charge if I have forgotten to shut off roaming.

Best,

Ilo

I live on the north side of STT and have Sprint. Service is great for me at home as well as whenever I'm out and about. Folks who visit me don't have AT&T reception at my home.

AT&T is great in Frenchman's Bay.
