Hey guys,

My fiance and I are looking to move to STJ next summer.......I've done all kinds of research, and we'll def. just be renting a 1 br apartment or studio...and we're preparing ourselves for a sardine-can sized place if necc!

For a 1br or studio, I've seen monthly rents from 900 all the way up to 2000. We want the lower end obviously! Can anyone give me an idea of what the lower cost ones would be like? I guess I'm saying- are they just really run down and gross or livable?

Older furnishings, small space, and that kind of stuff doesn't bother me......but holes in walls, etc. would!

We've stayed at the Tamarind and that quality building is fine for me!!

Let me know if you can!!! Thanks!!!

Ashley

In general, you need to look, with your own pair of eyes, at any properties before you rent. This is not including Juanita's places 😉 of course! I have heard all sorts of complaints about rental properties- there was no stove or fridge, it was filthy, it was unsafe (doors that don't lock, etc.). no parking, bad neighbors, big bugs... Smallness is fairly standard issue here, no matter what the price. You just have to decide what you can live with.
