Fewer troupes. Fewer fireworks. Lots of complaints. With poor economy, carnivals are struggling.

First Carnival. We went down 3 days. We have a little guy so we weren't out late. We had fun. I have nothing to compare to obviously but it was nice change of pace for us. Food Fair, although too hot to stick around long, was nice. Not really knowing what to expect I would say next year we would definitely get to food fair earlier and parade later.

That's the secret! Hopefully you went to children's parade. There was a mini parade (tramp) at Magens yesterday. That's an unofficial carnival activity.

People were complaining about the hour long gap during the parade after it actually had started. It's not rocket science since the Carnival Committee has been doing this for over 5 decades. Start on time, keep the parade moving and the music coming.

Nothing worse than standing around in the hot sun for an hour just waiting and wondering when the next troop, floup, float and band will next be coming your way.

They can do better, especially if they want to continue to attract a large audience and participants.

We were on Far East end of parade route. Many times I saw the parade stopping as I looked over gate. We couldn't stay the whole day in the heat with a baby but I would think it could stay more compact
