Hello,

Several months ago a lot of folks were talking about St. Croix... now it seems to be St. John. St. Thomas is pretty consistant in terms of interest level. Reason: Many potential residents are interested in work at restaurants, tours, charters, hotels... as beach attendants, chefs, bartenders, wait staff... and St. Thomas has a larger draw for number of jobs in those fields. Also St. Thomas is known to have a more active nightlife so for younger folks this is a draw as well. The draw for St. Croix is often that cost of living (apartments, gas, real estate) is less and the island offers a quiet more laid back atmosphere then St. Thomas.

Some folks will say GO St. Thomas and others GO St. Croix... 🙂 its a matter of opinion in terms of which is nicer, more liked ect. If you have an oppurtunity to take a trip down, plan on spending a few days on both islands so you can see which attracts you most.

You might read the What to Expect Stories on this site written by folks that have moved to the islands; includes St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John stories.

If you haven't read the Settlers Handbook, you might get one. You can learn more and order it through the link at the top of this page - there is a picture of it.
