We are coming over to St. Thomas from St. Croix and was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere to eat near the Compass Point Marina which is in or near Frydenhoj. We will be there on a Friday night, something with good food (maybe AYCE crab legs or good steak and seafood) and maybe some entertainment. Is that asking for to much? LOL!
Any thoughts?

margaritagirl: Are you going to have a dinghy? Cariga's at Independent Boat Yard has pretty good food (probably not crab legs) and usually has entertainment on Fridays. You could dinghy over from Compass Point- it is on the water and they even have a little dinghy area. The other dinghy doable place is Petra's Schnitzel House for German food. Buddha Sushi is across the street.

Otherwise you are in for a taxi ride. I am not sure who has crab legs, but plenty of places in Red Hook for steak and seafood.

We will have a rental car for that night, we won't have a boat until Saturday.
So what restaurants are close by that we can drive to?

Saturday is all you can eat crab legs at Iggies (unless they change it because of the holiday weekend.) It's at Bolongo Bay Resort.

The whole of Red Hook with many restaurants is a short 5 min. drive - Blue Moon at Secret Harbor is even closer and Roberts at Cowpet Bay just a bit down that road too.

My current favorite Red Hook restaurant is The Cellar- great ambiance and food. Robert's at the Elysian has great seafood and several entrees you can order as a small or large portion. Great she-crab soup, too! Piano bar entertainment. Duffy's has a crab leg special night, but I'm not sure when. If you want more boatie options: Cariga's and Latitude 18 and both should have live entertainment on Friday.

Thanks East Ender.
Is she-crab soup like a cream of crab from Maryland?
Where is Cariga's and Latitude 18?

Cariga's is at Independent Boat Yard.

Latitude 18 is at the end of the Vessup Beach Road.

Yummy she-crab is very creamy with sherry in it. Some people I know get an extra hit of sherry as a floater.

BTW, the first two are very casual, Robert's is a bit more upscale...
