Standing or volunteer Fire Dept. on islands?

Good morning.

As NYC faces the prospect of closing 20 fire houses because of budget cuts I wondered about the USVI. Do the islands have standing Fire Depts? Or are they volunteer or some mix? Are there multiple fire houses on STT and STC? What are response times like?

Thanks.

Ha, ha, ha! The USVI never cuts any government jobs. Not only are they government, they are unionized and because of hazardous duty are able to retire after a short term at the fire station. There are at least two stations on St Thomas.
