starting off on the islands?

when starting off on the islands whats an appropriate amount of cash i just need ranges to bring with before finding a job i already have an apartment set up and have a roomate to relocate with so i know that exspense but just looking for advice because i dont have much you know.

Somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 dollars. Probably the lower end since you are traveling alone.

if you think that you can come with a 1000 or so make sue that you buy a round trip ticket! You should have a job lined up BEFORE yo come down to live!

I really think you need more like $10k. Because you will need to buy a good used car (or ship one), rent (first, last months and deposit), in this economy you may need at least 3 or 4 months of living exp till you find a job (maybe more), a bunch of misc cost like deposits for electric, cable, etc or just stocking up your new home.

well i have the apartment lined up with a roomate and him and i are already roomates back here in the states and we grocery shop together and shit we were well as roomates so im not so worried just wondering you know give me a piece of mind i was thinking id ive around $7000 so thanks for tips.
