Because people ask about price of groceries and thanks to people Stateside, there are many items that are comparable to Stateside prices.

If people think VI is expensive, they won't consider visiting or moving. I never considered even vacationing here because I had heard it was expensive. I ended up moving here for personal reasons expecting it to be out of my price comfort.

Many things I ate in northern California are not available here (Swiss chard, trout, Kentucky string beans, etc) fresh at reasonable cost so had to adapt. There are many items that are not available that I grew up eating so I have to substitute or do without.

I post prices of what's available here which are probably fewer than what's available Stateside. The weekly sales are geared to common items most VI locals buy, and based on posts, seem to be in line with big city Stateside prices.

Not everything is expensive here, and thanks to online local ads, people can plan their grocery shopping go meet their budget.

Ha, ha! Should I post prices for "healthier" cereals? Health or wealth. Choice is yours.
