You'd probably get better rates after mid April, beginning of May.
Any particular timeframe?

You looking for the resort experience or want to check out all the beaches, CA, touristy things, etc? How 'bout a day sail to BVI on fast boat Breakaway Charters I think it is.

You might want to check on vrbo and flipkey or airbnb for rentals.
Sapphire Beach, Sapphire Hill, Crystal Cove locations are all very nice
and has many short term rental options, close to Red Hook, many beaches, bars, restaurants, shopping, night life and ferry/barge service to St. John. There's also Point Pleasant next door to Margaritaville in Water Bay and across the way from Coki Beach.

Not sure of what's happening with bar/restaurant at Sapphire these days as to whether they have lunch, dinner available on site. Secret Harbor, also on East End, has a beautiful beach, good bar and restaurant on site.

STJ carnival will be going on in June, culminating July 4, I believe.

Just depends what you're looking for.

If you want privacy, seclusion and be close to Hull Bay on North side of island, you can check out https://www.vrbo.com/594217 Stone Cottage.
It's gorgeous, the area is safe, private and quiet with great views. You can hear the waves. It sits right above Dorothea Beach and 5 minutes from Hull Bay Beach which has Hull Bay Hideaway with 2 bars, restaurants and serves lunch and dinner. There are 3 other restaurants that serve dinner in close proximity: Thirteen, Northside Bistro and Blue Orchid at the St. Peter's Greathouse. The zip line is across the road from the Greathouse.

Sherri is wonderful, the property really is lovely.
They're my neighbors so I'm quite familiar with the location and property.
It's very well maintained.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
