Recently moved to St. Thomas VI and looked around for a gym / health club. Definitely no LA Fitness type clubs here, where we belong on the mainland. After looking around for couple weeks, we ended up joining “Xtreme Fitness by Sonny” -

Selected Xtreme Fitness because while some equipment older, it’s well maintained/desirable equipment and the gym in general is very clean. It’s not large when compared to LA Fitness but very good size for St. Thomas. Sonny, the owner is very friendly, welcoming and exerted no pressure to join. As a matter of fact, he suggested some other gyms / health clubs to check out before we decided to join his gym. Also selected Xtreme Fitness because felt very safe outside the gym during day/night as co-located with Cost U Less grocery store, Caribbean Cinemas movie theater and Kokopelli Café plus Home Depot is very close by in same shopping area.

I think a question was posted in another forum about people getting together outside of the gym to work out...

Another (tu) for Sonny and Xtreme, although in the long run, the gym that is convenient is the one you will go to.
