Do they even HAVE library cards like in the states ?

The Enid L. Baa Library is located on Main Street downtown. You need ID and local references to get a card.

I found it, thanks !
I needed a picture ID, something that proves my mailing address, and 2 references. I only needed the references names and phone numbers, she said it was ok that I didn't know their addresses.

It is a very small library with limited books. I was looking for gardening books in particular. I found ONE that was useful. "Gardening in the Caribbean" - Iris Bannochie and Marilyn Light.
After a very very long walk to get there, I was glad that it was air conditioned.

After that I went to Havensight and right to the book store. They have some real nice books there, but too pricey for me right now. I will send subtle hints to the north asking for a book for my birthday.

At Havensight I hit the pay-less shoe store and got 2 pair of sandals for $10.50. Now that sure made my day !

The book store in Havensight (Dockside Bookstore) has a membership by phone number. You get coupons for so many points earned. If you watch they will have huge sales on all books in stock. I think they were like 50% off for all books in the store. They advertise the sales. I bought a lot of kids books that way. There a many lending libraries around the island as well. The laundry mat in Crown Bay, Toad and Tart, Bottom's Up in the Independent Boat Yard (is that restaurant still there???), and many other places that I hope others will add too. Oh yes and the Humane Society sells used books.
