STT or STX

With all due respect, the OP asked about STT or STX, not Florida.I know you lived here previously, and it's great that you're enjoying Florida, but they're asking about STT or STX. We had Island Dairy here for decades and they were forced to close, very sad for our islands, but we find ways to keep going, and make due with what we have. That's part of island life ... some adjustment often required.

My only reason to talk about the dairy in Florida where I JUST moved from STX is to talk about how sad the state of the dairy is on STX and to hope there is figured out a way to improve the situation, sheesh. Talk with any of the local farmers and they will tell you the same thing. It is very frustrating, I can tell you all about why Island Dairy closed.

You are talking to someone who has been a champion for local food and agriculture on STX for years now, see my post above with all the local farm information. Lighten up, have a rum punch, enjoy the view.

With all due respect, of course. Maybe some open ears.

i was not too fond of island dairy milk when it was here. i am glad to have crowley milk that is ultra pasteurized on island. i dont always drink the milk before it goes bad with the other brands, good to have a brand to be able to drink.

steve: Rotorhead's experience was on St Croix. You have people from both islands commenting without telling where they are. Somehow your question has devolved into crime and dairy products. Now if we can just bring up dolphin prisons and jet skis...:D

While I haven't lived on STT, I have visited there many times. I met my husband while we were living here in the 90's. We went back stateside to take care of my parents. But, we always knew we would be back on STX! Finally got back in 2011 and we could've moved anywhere.

For me, STX is friendlier, way less crowed, especially on cruise ship days! We have great restaurants, diving/snorkeling, museums, two rum factories, great art community. STT is only a short sea plane ride away.

In 90's I had my purse stollen right off my arm in broad daylight. Crime can happen anywhere, anytime. We, too, avoid any late night outings. For us, STX is the ideal place to live. I sold two stateside houses last year and we will never buy again. And, right now you can rent very nice and nicely appointed places on STX at prices that are so much more than house of same would cost to buy.

Good luck! Come on down!!!
