Haven't seen a topic on this recently, despite a search. Is there a place to rent a boat on STX? We have some friends in for the weekend, and we just want to go to Buck Island, but we'd like to do it without a tour group. We haven't been here long enough to buy our own or make friends who have a boat, so we're thinking a rental is the next best thing. 🙂

You need to apply for a permit to anchor of tie off on a mooring at Buck Island. The rangers check regularly to see if boats are registered.
The only boats that I know which are available for rent commercially are jet skis.

Hmm... well, never mind! But thanks for the information. We ended up going to Annaly Bay instead... it never gets old! 🙂
