How many people usually attend???

I was there for 2005 & 2006 get togethers and we had maybe 20 or more. One of the posts further up in this thread has links to pictures from the 2005 picnic.

Linda, thanks for posting those pictures! I had forgotten that we had first met Mike and Linda there. Also you, and Rick and Linda J. Is that nice lady with the blond teenage son still on island? Wasn't she a teacher?

That was a great time... it was the day after Tabra and I had first arrived on island and I was more hungover than I have ever been in my adult life. Everyone rallied around me and put me in front of a fan, brought me water and vitamins and basically was incredibly kind and understanding. 🙂

You were so sick! LOL. I pulled out my bag that had everything you could ever need in it! But the sun was good - the water helped you.

Did Eve and Mark ever stay on island?

Wish I could join y'all but won't be there until 9/1/09 (late). Maybe there's hope for another someday soon...???

I'm a Buckeye living in MICHIGAN!! go figure... I'm moving to the islands hopefully in the next couple of months. I've applied for a transfer to the Home Depot on St Thomas.

Did you hear they ALMOST canceled the Ohio State vs Michigan game last year?? Michigan couldn't get past TOLEDO...lol

August 23rd is coming fast. Wow this year has FLOWN! So, we're still on for the Picnic at Cramer's Park noonish on Sunday, August 23rd. Make sure to bring your own plate, silverware, cup. Bring a dish to pass or something to drink to share with all. Here's what I have so far.

Me - Hot Dogs and Burger meat
Bombi - Charcoal, Salad, Rum!!!
Terry & Annie - Chips, Salsa, Desert
TRW - Potato Salad, Chili
Doug/Tam - Deviled Eggs

Need to see more of you out there - how bout all you regular posters - You know who you are - If you live on STX or are here visiting for a bit, come and get together with everyone.

Let us know if you're coming and bringing anything - The ones in 2005 & 2006 were fun!

Did Eve and Mark ever stay on island?

Linda - Mark & Eve split up, so Mark never moved to the island. Eve did and is still here. She works for a law firm in C'sted and seems very happy with her life here with the new b/f whenever I bump into her on the boardwalk or elsewhere. If I see her I'll tell her about the picnic and maybe she'll come out.

I'll be there if I can. I don't have anyone booked to be showing properties to that weekend so far, but things do change suddenly. I'll figure out what to bring a bit closer to the event depending on what seems to be most lacking on the menu.

Sounds good see you at noon, I will bring homemade burger buns!

Need help!!!! We must get $25 deposit to Housing, Parks & Rec on St. Croix by the 14th of this month to hold our Pavillion at Cramers Park. If anyone can step up this time, I am still off-island and can't do it - has to be done in person. The hold us under my name - Linda Adler. I told them it was for the VI NOW msg board. We can reach them at 773-0271. If you are willing to do this for the group, please call me at 340-244-9179 to let me know. THANK YOU!!!!!

In light of the TS Ana due to hit the islands on Monday night/Tuesday, my suggestion would be we postpone our get together for a week or two. Please chime in on this.

If we keep it as is, and no one can physically get in to the Housing, Parks & Rec on St. Croix on Monday and make the $25 deposit, we'll lose our pavillion. I am not due on-island till Friday - flying thru Miami - which is the day after Ana should hit FL. I love adventurous travel!

Postponing it may be a wise move.

Neither Ana nor Bill is projected (at this time) to hit St. Croix, plus by Aug. 23, they will both be a memory. I don't know about the one behind Bill, but if you start postponing due to possible storms, you better plan on Christmas!

That's fine, but someone needs to get to the office and put the deposit down on Monday or we lose the pavillion. I need people to speak up with their opinions about if it is a go or not and someone to agree to go to the office on Monday. It's a $25. deposit.

sorry linda i'd have to cab it out there and round trip for me would be like 60 bucks,i'll have my ride back in a couple of weeks my expiditer guy is doing the dmv paperwork for me today

Alright, looks like we either take a chance on having a pavillion/grill without a reservation now, or we postpone the picnic. If I don't hear from a majority of people saying to take a chance, I will go ahead and postpone it for 2 weeks. Then I can go and put the deposit down on Monday when I'm on-island. So please, let me know what you want to do. I love meeting everyone at these picnics!

Lets go for it and see what happens. Corey said he's coming and I'm there.

If someone needs a ride from the christiansted area to cramers let me know! Since there is only going to be a handful of us there, i dont see the need to reserve a pavillion. You can go in and to the far right there is a picnic bench under a tree, spot for a fire, right next to all the facilites that noone will use. Im bringing gear to go try to catch a lobster or two, and just in case that fails *-), ill bring some of my artichoke dip, crackers and cheese.
