Good afternoon - Seems I have a few battery's, from helping Friends, several car & boat battery's. They sell you a new battery, but don't want the old one. SO how is the proper way to keep them out of the environment. Been told set by the dumpster, imagine it will still end up in the landfill or worse??? . Lead is lead would like to dispose of properly, am I nuts ? Any help will be appreciated- thanks

I would drop it off in front of the NAPA, H&H or Car Zone after hours. They surly have a legal way to dispose of it.
In fact I am thinking they charge you a disposal fee when you buy a new one.

I drop my old batteries off at H&H. They have pallets at their back door where they put their old batteries. I stack my old battery on the pallet. They have never objected.
