STX: Please help find Chuck.

Lost, Chuck, black shepherd mix with white on chest, 4 years old, weighs 60 pounds. He has salt and pepper legs and feet, eyebrows and markings under throat. His collar is orange, name tag also orange. I have photos, but can't figure out how to post them here.

Missing 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, March 6 at Haypenny Beach. My phone is on his collar. His had name tags, St. Croix dog tags and is microchipped.

He is friendly and loves other dogs. He is an inside dog and not used to spending the night outside. Please call Gretchen 340-514-6326

Hope you find Chuck quickly. If you have an online photo site like Photobucket (if you don't, get one) put the link to the photo between this with no spaces:

If I were you, I would go and talk to the owners of the farm above Hapenny Beach area - The Nelthropps - you can see the houses from the road - on your left as you drive East. They might just see your dog and if you talk to them, it could prevent him getting into trouble as a stray. If he knows the sound of your car, running it near where you saw him last and giving him enough time to get to you is worth a try.
In fact I would go to any of the houses/farms around the beach and give them a flyer. I would put a notice up at Gallows Bay Market etc and make sure you give the Animal shelter and the vets a pic. too.
Hope you find him soon.

Chuck is still missing. He is NOT the solid black dog with the purple collar at Haypenny Beach. That dog, as far as I know, lives at the Haypenny Club.

Also, Chuck is a medium sized dog, 60 pounds, wearing an orange collar with phone number and name embroidered on the collar plus an orange bone shaped dog tag with all his id--name, phone, address. REWARD for his return.

Thank you to everyone on this list and around STX that have offered help in looking for him. Here's another photo.

Gretchen,
I remember reading a post about a found dog. I sorry I don't remember the type but it was over at the stx yacht club. I hope this helps.

Mike

Thanks Jersey Mike, but STX Yacht Club says that poster of found dog is missing. Anyone who has any leads on who may have found a dog on the East End are greatly appreciated.

On a side note---I volunteer at STX animal shelter. If you find a dog or cat, please call the shelter. There is a big bulletin board of missing animals posted in their lobby. They can take your info and connect you with the missing pet's family.

This prevents my current dilemma: wondering now if someone on the East End found my dog and since their "found dog" flyer is missing, how I'm going to find them.

In addition, if you're missing a pet, the shelter receives animals as strays that are obviously someone's pets and they are often unable to reconnect them with the owners.
