My family is considering a move to St. Croix from the states depending upon the outcome of a job interview. Both of us have been out to St. Croix in the past for his work, but this was prior to having kids. I am curious if there is any feedback from those who are raising families there with small children. Our kids are in Pre-K, I am mainly concerned about safety, pre-k schools, finding babysitters, support networks and access to groceries, internet connections etc. We are very excited about the possibility of being in such a lovely place and having a change from suburban America, and would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

We recently moved here with a 4-month-old and a 21-month-old. Let me tell you, it's been the best decision we ever made! Our daughter absolutely loves it here and going to the beach ( even though she was afraid at first) and our son...well, he's happy regardless. We have intentions of living abroad in a few years, but we may end up staying here!

If you have specific questions let me know!

We have a 22 month old and a 6 month old. One of the best things about living here is the network of mom's and people with children of simliar age here.

Without knowing more about what you do just be careful about expenses, by my estimations for a family of 4 with 2 little kids it takes about 20-50% more income to sustain a given lifestyle here than stateside (depending on where you come from). Before I had kids it wsan't as much of an issue but now that I'm not eating/going out the high cost of power and food from grocery stores really eats through a budget.

Wow you two have kids right in my kid's age ranges (24 months and 10 months). It is so good to hear about the network of moms...I was worried about feeling isolated but it seems that that is not a problem! I may send you guys a personal message with questions if you don't mind:)
