Here in the hills on the North Shore near Cane Bay we lost our power Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 and got it back around 3:30 this morning, although there were a couple of 1 second blips of power between midnight and then as WAPA tried to bring it back.

We got ours back at 1130pm. Just pathetic, hate to see when a real storm hits.

When a real storm comes our way, WAPA completely shuts off power to the whole island. Well, at least that was what I've experienced in storms in the past. So be prepared.

I was shocked, LF, that we didn't lose WAPA as well. Oh, yes, west is best and I've lived east for years! Glad we came west...no regrets other than wish we'd made the move over here sooner.

According to WAPA, there was a generator failure at the Estate Richmond Power Plant.

The only certain thing I know, is that Cotton Valley went down around 6:30 pm and then clicked back on at midnight.

I do rejoice when it returns though!

Hurricane season is heating up.
Get ready and be prepared.
Hopefully, we won't get slammed but WAPA needs no excuse to go offline.
I liked what Adrienne said:
"If a lizard poops on the line, the power goes off"
Buckle up.
