Don't get me wrong, I think this flu is a serious matter, but the media has blown it into more of a major issue than it needs to be.
So swine flu & Michelle Obama's $300 plus dollar sneakers are top headlines.......GMAFB!
The news isn't being reported rather the media is force feeding us what "they" want us to hear............thank goodness I gave up TV & those whack jobs on CNN years ago. Now I read only what I want to & Gleefully ignore the exaggerated media one sided agenda.

For those who might be interested, there's an excellent article about how the flu virus transmits in cold dry climates vs. warm tropical climates on Jeff Master's blog on wunderground: http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/show.html (it's the May 4 article: "Influenza and the weather")

Basically the scientific evidence is showing that flu infections increase under cold or dry conditions, but the spread of the virus is diminished in higher humidities.

very interesting! i thought it was just the nearness - but on the mucous membrane thing, they dry out in cold and dry conditions like in airplanes and cruise ships and they also dry out with artificial climate controlled heating. dry mucous membranes are really of much less use than membranes that are moist, as in humid conditions. you think the virii "learned" that? spooooooky....!

maybe they are trying to divert our attention from this.

H.R. 1388 was passed yesterday, behind our backs. You may want to read about it. It wasn't mentioned on the news... just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen.

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA. This is the news that didn't make the headlines...

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza.

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States, was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

well, terry... i'm not sure h.r. 1388 was a sneak-by since it was in the works for some time, and it actually looks like it's strengthening volunteer programs - http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h1388/show

and, as for the hamas refugee request - http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-palestine-refugees.htm, please note in this same article, that g.w. helped refugees from sudan and gaza... we have to remember that these are refugees, not perpetrators.

anyhoo...

We just have dengue to worry about right? they can have the H1N1 bug (hate calling it swine flu) all those poor pigs killed for no reason.

People in some countries are so ignorant and think they are getting this from kissing pigs. What will happen if we ever have a dog flu or cat flu????

Bet Michael Jackson doesnt have to worry. he is already covered. hehe

yeah, he was only kissing bubbles the chimp.:P

Anita,

I guess we are on the same wave length since on page 1 of this thread I posted the open congress article and a snopes response labeling the hamas refugee issue false!

Guess you didn't see them...:)
