I have found that going to the IRB office & asking "where is my refund" is definitely a must if you are still waiting.
Turns out I had an error on my return, but they had not yet sent me notification. Going in today expedited that notice, now I am in line for a check.

I posted the same thing in one of the tax refund threads.
One year they DID notifiy me of something they wanted to ask about.
The next year they had a question and did NOT send a notification. I had to go in and find out.
Fortunately, they're pretty nice to deal with in person.
