I filed VI taxes on April 8, and I'm due a refund. Haven't seen a check yet! Does it take 3 months (or longer) to get a refund here????

I filed mine the same time and got it in late May. Just hang on! I'm still waiting for my stimulus check though, although some VI people have gotten theirs already.

It's much improved. It used to take months or years to get a refund.

Well, it's now been 5 months and I don't have a check. I'm transferring off island next week, so I have to find out how to update my address with them... sigh...

An address change probably won't "take". They seldom do the first time around. Where do you get your mail now? If it's a private mail service, I would be inclined to just let it ride and have them forward it. At the very least, after you put in the address change, call back a week later to confirm what address they have for you. Of course, if your refund is already in process, well....just cover all bases as best you can. Good luck. You need all you can get dealing with IRB.

I agree with Trade though. It is better than it used to be.

All the more reason to make sure your exemptions, etc. match what you will file with your return. Do not use income tax witholding as a way to "save" money. Go to a bank for that.
Otherwise you might be waiting months and/or years to get your "savings" refunded because you over paid your taxes.

I filed for the first time this year living on St. Croix and did not send it in until the 15th of April. I received my refund around the beginning of June and then I got my stimulus check in August. Boy do I feel VERY lucky!!

I haven't gotten my check either. Does anyone know who I would call to inquire?

Thanks

I read in the paper that all of the tax refunds (not stimulus checks) had been issued.

We were due a tax refund so called and were told that yes, they had all been issued so she checked our file and told us she didn't think by looking at our file we were due one !!!!..............Uh hello, like he** we are........we she put our file in for "review" and two weeks later we got one.

You might want to call and check the status.
