Hello all 🙂

Has anyone worked through the temp agencies on STX? Do they utilize people who have just moved on island or are they more likely to place locals? How easy is it to find placements with them once you sign on?

I have a B.S. in Business Management and 6+ years in customer service/sales suport in the manufacturing sector and was hoping to work temp after we move to STX in June... Just wondering what that market is like.

Susan

Thanks Ian,

I appreciate all of the input. I am hoping to stay "at home" for the first few months after we move and get the house and kids settled in, then go back to working. We go back to STX in May to secure housing for the move in June, and I'll be sure to pick up a copy of the Island Trader while I am there!

Thanks again,

Susan

Hi Susan,

Wanna know what's worked for me? I walk around and ask the local retailers (or places I think I'd like to work), etc. if they're looking for part-time help. So far I have two part-time jobs and another offer on the table. If at first they say no, I leave my number. I did that at 3 places and got 3 calls! I found that a friendly and willing attitude totally helps.

Good luck!

You might call them and see what they offer.

On St. Croix there is:

They do both temporary & permanent employment.
