"Thank you!" from Cliff Clavin

I have to admit that I sometimes feel like Cliff Clavin from CHEERS as I read this board and check the real estate listings from NYC on an almost daily basis-those of you that watched that great show will recall Cliff planned a move to Florida, and became an expert on the State. Consequently my kids don't complain much to me anymore about the cold weather, traffic, or crowds up here. They are afraid they"ll hear me ask "You know where it's 80 degrees right now?" or "You know where there's no traffic right now?" or "You know where..." My standard answer to all of these questions being St. Croix.

For a New York minute I thought a real opportunity was coming for us to make the move, or rather, an extended pmv, but that appears to have been dashed today. Looks like it will be at least another two years before that opportunity presents itself again in any realistic way. I have to say that I'm a little sad. I read many of the posts on here with great interest, and thus far have not been put off by the generally acknowledged drawbacks and/or complaints about island life.

That said, I'll thank those of you down there in advance for answering an occasional question, considering and outsider's comments, and allowing me peer into your lives as I await my chance to be your neighbor. 😉

Good luck, and keep your chin up!

My wife moved here from NYC almost 20 years ago, and has never regretted it...not even after Hugo LOL!
Feel free to ask any questions, anytime.
