I guess the debut is getting closer: http://stthomassource.com/content/news/local-news/2013/12/06/sleek-new-ferries-dedicated-sunny-ceremony

I wonder how long the interiors will look like that...

Dedicated 12/6/13 and still not in operation.... I'd love to hear the rest of that story.

Aren't they still "testing" though I haven't seen any testing in Red Hook. They look very similar to the ones in Trinidad and Puerto Rico. Is there outside, upstairs seating? If not, I'll miss the old ferries.

I just hope the new ferries don't spew oil and countless amounts if toxic fumes into the air and ocean. I swear tug-life is the WWWWOOORRRRSSSTTTTTT. I can't and won't take that line because that boat is so dilapidated. I got psychically ill last time on it from the smog... And I was OUTSIDE my car upstairs. It's terrible.

A&A: The two new ones are people, not car ferries. Since they are brand new, I would suspect that they are more fuel efficient than the ones that have been operating for 20+ years.

Ms411: I thought they were being inspected, not tested. Although, I suspect there is testing involved in inspecting. The pictures seem to indicate seats upstairs.

Is being rendered psychically ill preferable to physically ill? I guess it's a choice of being driven psychically off one's rocker and terrifying other passengers with erratic behavior or simply physically throwing up over everyone (which is a toss-up?)!

I was both lol, Once again OT your superior spelling skills assist in making fun of me for no reason. I hope you don't wonder why other board members consider you a "know it all". 😀 You have yourself a GREAT night!

How unfortunate that you can't tell the difference between making fun of and having fun with. And I thought it was a lovely reason. Lighten up, child. I've never wondered at all whether either if or why "other board members" consider me a "know it all". I am now deeply troubled at the very thought that such could even be possible and will be making an emergency appointment tomorrow with my psychiatrist (or maybe my psychical mentor) to try and come to terms with such an upsetting revelation. Heavens to Betsy!
