Couldn't believe my eyes when I read the Huffington earlier today about Virgin Islands Winemakers Dinners.

Here's the link if you care to read an article by Ajit George

The article's title, "Winemakers Dinners Bring Charity To The Virgin Islands" is misleading, as the dinners and charity are exclusively in and for the BVI. Perhaps the Huffington Post staff member that created the title is unaware that there are both British and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Misleading? Good Grief ! The BVI is part of the Virgin islands and reading the article and who the author is, one should not be confused.

Lizard totally agree!

One should be happy for the publicity here in the Virgin Islands whether British or US.

Actually this year they started to refer to them as the Virgin Islands without saying British as in the past. It's intentional on their part. We also, in the past few years, have been competing with the Spanish Virgin Islands, Culebra and Vieques.

Like Ronnie, I noticed that this year they've started omitting the "British," and I had heard it is intentional. Yes, the title is technically correct, but it is misleading because people on this USVI forum have to read the article to discover it has nothing to do with the USVI. Ajit George simply isn't well known enough that all, or even most, forum visitors will recognize his name and know the activity being advertised takes place in, and benefits, the BVI. I think it's fine to publicize a BVI event on a USVI forum, but I thought it useful to make note of the location for forum visitors who might be confused, or who are not interested in charity events in the BVIs.

Oh Phooey DNT, Just your usual happy self! Nice try at the recover.

"The Ultimate Resource for moving to and Living in the Virgin Islands"

"Virgin Islands Moving Center"

I had to read this forum just to figure out it was for the USVI, and all these poor posters did too.
