Only three more days and a wakeup and I will be in STX for good. Will arrive at 5:29pm on the 8th. If Orlando airport is open I will be fine if not I may get sent to an alternate airport and be delayed some. Wish me luck on the airports and flights. Will see everyone at Off the Wall on the 14th and looking forward to it very much.

John,

WIll add you to a long list of folks that I'm sending good travel vibes. My brother is also on that list -- he, too, is scheduled to be in Orlando next week.

Remember that Frances isn't the only storm you need to watch -- the 8th is the day that Hurricane Ivan is anticipated to be in our area. Current predictions have Ivan going a few hundred miles south of STX, but as Hurricane Charly showed, these storms can change direction at any time. Ivan became a major hurricane last night (category 3) and is expected to strengthen even more over the next 24 hours, so it may also cause you some delays as air traffic controllers decide what to do about flights through/to the Caribbean, Florida, Georgia, and maybe even Alabama.

That said, I do hope everything goes smoothly for you. Looking forward to seeing you at Off the Wall on the 14th.

HC

John,

Good luck with your trip. We arrive a day before you so we'll keep the lights on. I've been a bit worried about Ivan so will keep an eye on him.

See you at OTW on the 14th.

Rockportjohn,

Can't wait to hear about you trip and moving there! I wish you luck as well on your flights. We were worried about Tropical Storm Earl and he just disappeared. Don't remember him do you? He didn't do much and was gone. I hope the same for any other hurricanes - that they just disappear.
