Thunderstorms

I have another question that I was hoping someone here might answer. How common are thunderstorms in the islands? I've spent a lot of time in Central America and one of the things I enjoyed was how during the rainy season at around noon great storms would whip up and then disappear after a few hours. Any such conditions in the Virgin Islands? Thanks.

We get a few big rain storms accompanied by lightening and thunder - usually those kinds dont last 2 hours, but often the whole night/early morning or the whole day is rainy- the lightling and thunder might last only a couple hours as you mentioned. Doesn't happen that often. Maybe just a few times for the whole year. I can remember maybe two nights and one day where we had loud thunder last year. Might have been more...
