Tiny, tiny ants

I've had dozens of very tiny ants on my kitchen counter and bathroom sink. Someone recommended Terro at Gallows Bay Hardware. I put a few drops around the counter and sink. The ants are attracted to the drops. Some die at the drop. Others, I suppose, return to the nest.

Hope this will put an end to these pests.

If your condo has monthly exterminator spraying, you should speak to the technician. They have some other things that will work longer, but terro is a good product, and not especially harmful to people or the envoronment. You will find that keeping the kitchen immaculate will help but not eliminate the problem, particularly in multi-person living areas. We store most all foodstuffs in the freezer, refrigerator or sealed glass containers (with gaskets)...we find the plasticware does not last and imparts an unpleasant smell/taste to food after a while. Ants will eat through paper-based packaging, plastic bags and can even get inside tupperware type containers.

The owner of a Terminex franchise told me this...

Poison bate such as Terro is the way to go. Ants bring the poison back to the nest to feed to their nest mates. Dead! (tu)

Spraying does kill some. But when those that die do not return to the nest an "alarm" is transmitted and those in the nest evacuate, split up, and establish two or more new nests. They will eventually return to the scene of the crime. (td)

We always leave Terro out for the little guys, whether or not we see them crawling around. It keeps 'em under control. Good stuff.

I think Terro is great too.
Though, sometimes they seem to steer away from it!
This has occurred a couple of times (I always shake the contents).
Spraying the perimeter should help.
Also, are there any trees touching the sides or roof?

A few drops of Terro on the kitchen counter and bathroom sink yesterday. Today, for the first time, not a single ant! 🙂

The word is out. Stay away from Ed's. It's a kill zone!

My ants appear to be alcoholics since all they actually get into is any discarded glass from the night before. They seem to be especially fond of watermelon vodka! 🙂 I just got some Terro a couple of days ago because those tiny, tiny things ARE a nuisance. Nice to hear the stuff will get rid of them.

I got it at Gallows Bay Hardware.

BTW, initially, it appeared that the ants at the drop were dead. They weren't. I guess they were just hanging out at the bar. In the morning, there was not one ant, dead or alive in the kitchen or bathroom. 🙂

K, if you can speak "Ant," give them the message! :@)

Dance about stomping them singing the theme from Pink Panther "Dead Ant, dead ant, dead ant, dead ant, dead ant, dead ant" ---- until they just leave in embarrassment.

Probably why I wasn't so lucky last time I tried this method. The dancing and stomping was good, but I was singing the theme from "The Odd Couple" tv show.
