Chef Noah,

My husband is contemplating starting a home based knife sharpening business. Any words of wisdom?

Also, I am seeking whole knife carrying cases but am obviously asking the wrong question of google. Is there a "magic" word for these things?

Thanks in advance,

Pamela

Yep, try knife roll. Has he considered a mobile sharpening truck?
This is a company in Denver that is WILDLY successful. They pull up to restaurants, grab the knives, go in the truck, sharpen them, return the knives and drop off an invoice. It could be tough on some of those sharp curved steep roads.

Regards
Noah

I've used this for years. Best edge you can get!

Thanks, fellas! Wish he could do the truck - it would be great but he is relatively housebound so we are going to have to do pickup and drop off.

Found what we needed on knife roll!

Great idea! If you come across people needing long straight edges you can sub them out to me, if you don't have the gear yourself. I'm set up to sharpen my own planer knives and so on.

Good luck!
