What he might try doing is getting in touch with cruise ship lines as they begin coming back into St. Croix. They always need agents on islands to assist in coordinating excursions. Some of the major hotel/resorts might also be interested in having someone market their property actively with travel agents in the states. There is supposed to be a new resort/casino beginning construction at the end of this year. With your timeframe for moving, they may actually have enough constructed to be looking at people to market the new resort. I know this is different than what a travel agent does on the mainland, but there isn't as much call for traditional travel agencies here.

Hello islandgirl,

Its good that you have started planning a while in advance, nothing wrong with that. (tu)

The travel agency I often see mentioned, advertised on St. Croix is http://www.SoutherlandTours.com. There are others, not very many. You can pull them up in the yellow pages www.viphonebook.com to take a look; maybe call them up. I agree with Alexandra that you may need to branch off and persue related work. Also is there anything else in terms of work that you are interested or have experience in?

What part of hotel business is your husband in; wanting to start one, manages them, HR...?
