YES!

That is, there is a crying need for a dependable, certified, licensed and insured arborist who will return phone calls. Once you get your duns number there is a lot of sensitive tree work to be done around the parks and historic buildings in Christiansted and Frederiksted.

On the other hand there is not much work for a freelance tree climber. There have been a few talented folks like that who have come and gone without much success.

For competition we have Asplundh and St Croix Leap. Leap/Cheech are great but he only does what he wants to do, and he does it on his own schedule. Asplundh are busy doing rights-of-way.

Good luck. Bring a bucket truck and a good chipper. We have a good Stihl dealer, but a hydro-ax will put you miles ahead of anyone else. Save and/or sell any and all mahogany logs you come across.

PS wanna buy my gaffs? My knees don't let me climb much anymore.
