@DixieChick are you sure it was on STX? The only incidents this weeks was the shooting in Coki point where 1 was injured and 2 killed...then there was the 15 yr old who drowned at the cruise ship dock in F'sted.

Havent heard of a triple homocide...sure hope you were thinking of Coki

I haven't read the paper or listened to the news for a couple of days as involved in projects but I sure hope it wasn't Coki Point, again.
If it was and police are aware of the types of criminal activities that take place there, why don't they have a couple full time policemen there? I no longer send my guests there, anymore.

DixieChick, is it possible this is what you heard about on the radio?

If you were sending your guests there at 2am to party at the nightclub I surely agree with you - but during the day it is one of the few STT beaches that has any local flavor and is very popular with many visitors because of that. There is almost always a police presence there in the daytime and the resident vendors also do a fair job of staying vigilant and keeping the beach area safe .

I hear you Exit Zero.
I wouldn't advise anyone to be there at 2AM but have had guests that I sent previously during the daytime business hours and the swarm of guys coming up to them before even getting out of their car, turned them off and they just decided there were other, more comfortable destinations to visit. Sad to say.

Boy, 15, drowns at Ann Abramson dock

ST. CROIX - Police and other emergency responders were called to a desperate scene Monday afternoon as they joined residents in feverish attempts to revive an unconscious 15-year-old swimmer in Frederiksted.

V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said the boy and some of his friends were on the small dock at the Ann Abramson Marine Facility and jumped into the water.

Jumping or diving off of that dock or the larger cruise-ship dock is a pastime that has been enjoyed by residents for decades.

Rames said when the boy jumped into the water he was unable to sustain himself in the water and went back under the water at least two times.

Two adult swimmers in the area saw the distressed child and tried to help him, while another set of individuals in a nearby boat saw the scene unfolding and scooped him out of the water and brought him to shore where they began unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him there, according to Rames.

The first call to emergency dispatchers was made at 3:39 p.m.

Rames said firefighters from the Queen Street Fire Station were the first medical responders on the scene and were closely followed by police officers and emergency medical technicians, who also were unable to bring the boy back to life.

Rames said she was unable to confirm the boy's identity Monday night.

Relatives of the boy identified him as Adondre Brathwaite, a ninth-grader at Free Will Baptist Christian School.
