Where did you buy it? We took our old Sony back to Kmart and they replaced it with no questions asked - no receipt.

Small probem?
Normally here it's the power supply & WAPA took it out with a surge/brownout.
Does it turn on?

I thought that WAPA might have had something to do with it. It won't turn on. The power light comes on but can not get a picture? what do you think

Is the screen blue like there is no input?
Or, is there just a black screen?
Do you here a click like a relay is engaging?
I'm NOT a t.v. repair guy, but I should get you past the basics.

I've repaired MANY WAPA damaged items for myself.

This won't help you now but for anybody else who wants to avoid losing home theater equipment to poor quality power I recommend one of these or similar: http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=178339

Ignore the price at Belkin's site - these are selling online new from retailers for about $75 and one nice thing about them is that Belkin warranties your equipment against damage from power up to $50,000 or more as I recall (don't have the literature that came with mine anymore so I'm not sure.)

If your budget allows you can spend many times this amount for some even nicer power conditioning equipment but for me needs this is sufficient.

Some TVs have a self diagnostic tool. If the light blinks,...count the blinks then go to the web and search for that brand's diagnostic tool.

I was able to determine that my light ballast was out due to 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks pause...........

Is it a flat screen or older CRT? I'm not sure who would repair it in STT but I'd call Sony and see if they have a repair person here.
