TV repair

Bought a brand new TV at K Mart in August and a few short months later it just stopped working completely. Of course I didn't keep the sales slip (woops!) Anybody know of a TV repair person?
Also, I had a carpenter take down part of our kitchen ceiling so that an air conditioner could be installed. Now months later, it is still not put back up. This part of the ceiling was made of wooden floor boards (yes, I know, kind of weird). Anyone know of a reliable carpenter who returns calls and then follows through? Thanks.

If on STX I could recommend a TV repair guy.

The ceiling is most likely not floor boards. Probably tongue and groove cypress. Very common and readily available at any lumber yard here.

I had a similar problem with a Kmart TV a couple of years ago. I actually had success mailing it back to the manufacturer--they sent a new one. I forget the brand, but it was a fairly inexpensive model so I was pleasantly surprised.

Best,

call your tv manufacturer and see what they recommend. we had a problem a few years back with a tv, called manufacturer, they sent us a new tv because there was not an authorized repair person on island. they had to do that 3 times, we did have to pay shipping. turns out the islands electrical system does not handle plasma too well cause it uses more power than and lcd does.
