What can you tell me about the quality of the marine biology program at Univ. of VI?

Laura: The students in the program are fairly serious, i.e. they go to class! A good number accepted into graduate programs in the states. I have to say from personal experience that they are a knowledgable bunch, fun to take snorkeling and diving. You might contact the Marine Science division and see if you can get some feedback from the students directly.

Thanks for the suggestion- I'll do that. Maybe they can hook me up with some people in the program.

Hello Laura,

UVI's marine science... actually their Science and Math Dept. as a whole is strong. Very good professors, small classrooms, interested students... I attended UVI but in another dept., had friends in Marine Science - a couple are high school teachers, some were doing research in the Caribbean aboard a research vessel last I heard, a couple working at aquariums on the mainland. My experiences at UVI were positive.
