Does anyone live on the west end? How is Fortuna Bay? I talked to a real estate agent this morning and she said "I don't think you want to live on the west end, it would be such a long commute." I said well how long of a commute is it? She said, "20 minutes." I giggled and told her that my husband commutes over one hour one way everyday and so do I. She said it's not as congested as the east end and there's no traffic coming into town. The more secluded the better for us. If anyone knows anything about the West End, please enlighten me.

The West End is residential only. There is one little store, but they tend to open whenever they feel like it. No set "hours". Most Visitors to the island never make it out there. Very quiet.

When you live here 20 minutes is an eternity in the car! Haha! I couldn't live out on the West End because it's too far! haha!

We drove out to the West End and it is very secluded and beautiful. I got the impression that the people that live on the West End would like to keep it secluded. If you like the country, you might like it there. The down side is that there is no cell service on the West End, limited high speed internet services and cable services. All of which we put in our 'Need to have' category. While it may be 20 minutes to town, it would be much longer to get to Tutu or the East End, so as long as you don't need to go those places often you might get by living there. That is my two cents. 😉
