"Use tax" on used vehicles shipped in?

I am looking at moving to STX soon. I currently live in OR and have a compact and am thinking of trading up to an American made SUV.

OR has no sales tax on vehicles, I'm wondering if the USVI has a "use tax" for vehicles brought in? And if so, is there a certain amount of time as a new owner this will apply?

For instance, CA states that a car brought in w/in 90 days of purchase is subject to a "use tax".

Thanks

There will be a road tax and Excise tax before you can get it registered - also must have local insurance for registration.

Quite a thorough explanation in the drop down menu above. Under relocating - the move- car

Other fee to consider is Customs, which applies to all vehicles manufactured outside of the continental US.
This can be tricky however. For example, I purchased a Ford Edge. I love it, and Ford is an American company, but the vehicle was manufactured in Canada, so I got hit with the added fee.
Some foreign companies, like Honda, Toyota, ect, manufacturer their vehicles in the states and they are exempt from the fee.
