What's the deal with the fire department on the islands? Is it all career guys or what? I'm a volunteer FF from NY and I was wondering if I could continue down on the islands. Moving and having an instant social group(being firefighters) is always good.

call the fire department. They will tell you what the future is.

They aren't volunteer & the pay isn't very good. I can't remember what it is now. We do have a good search & rescue group you'd probably welcomed to join.
